Getting Started
From sign-up to your first review in a few minutes.
1. Create your account
Go to languageden.com and click Sign up. Enter your email and choose a password, or sign in with Google.
2. Choose your study language
During onboarding you choose the language you are learning. Your native language defaults to English (you can change it later in Profile & Settings). LanguageDen supports 45 target languages — see Supported Languages for the full list.
You can add more study languages later from Profile & Settings.
3. Add your first word
Open Words in the sidebar and click Add word. Fill in the form:
- Word / phrase — in your target language (label uses your language name)
- Translation — in your native language
- Part of speech — noun, verb, adjective, and so on
- Source section (optional) — link the word to material you are studying
You need at least one of the word or translation fields. If you save with only one filled in, LanguageDen can fill the other with AI. See Adding Words for other ways to build your collection.
4. Generate flashcards
A word cannot be reviewed until it has flashcards. Open the word detail page and click Generate flashcards. LanguageDen's built-in AI creates a set of cards tailored to that word. Generation usually takes a few seconds.
See Generating Flashcards for manual creation and bulk options.
5. Start a review
Click Review in the sidebar, or Start review on Home. If cards are due, the session begins immediately. Each card shows a prompt — reveal the answer, then rate your recall with Again, Hard, Good, or Easy.
LanguageDen uses FSRS to schedule the next review from your rating. See Spaced Repetition — rating buttons for what each button means.
