Adding Words
Build your vocabulary collection manually or by import.
Add a word manually
Click Add word on the Words page, from Home, or from a Source section. The form includes:
| Field | Required | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Word / phrase | One of word or translation | Label shows your target language name |
| Translation | One of word or translation | Label shows your native language name |
| Part of speech | Yes | Noun, verb, adjective, phrase, and so on |
| Source section | No | Link the word to a section within a Source |
Click Add word to save. The word detail page opens so you can generate flashcards or review metadata.
If you save with only the word or only the translation, LanguageDen queues an AI translation job to fill in the missing field.

Generate flashcards
After a word is saved, open its detail page and click Generate flashcards. You can also add cards manually with Add flashcard. See Generating Flashcards and Flashcard Types.
Image flashcards
For concrete nouns, AI generation often creates an image based card. On that flashcard, use Add image or Replace to search and attach a photo. Image search is per flashcard, not on the word itself.
After a bulk import
Imported words enter Word Triage as Needs triage. Process them there — generate flashcards, keep, or delete — before they join your regular review flow.
Organise with Sources
Link words to a Source Section to trace vocabulary back to the book, show, or course where you found it.
