Word Triage

Work through new words and decide what to do with each one.

What Triage is for

Triage is a focused queue for words with status Needs triage. These are typically words from a bulk import or saved from the Reader without Also generate flashcards checked. Words you add manually are accepted immediately — you can generate flashcards from the word detail page without visiting Triage.

Open Triage from the sidebar, or go to /triage. The badge shows how many words are waiting.

The workflow

Triage shows one word at a time. For each word, choose one action:

Action Shortcut What it does
Generate cards 1 Accepts the word and queues AI flashcard generation
Keep 2 Accepts the word without flashcards — removes it from Triage
Delete 3 Permanently removes the word from your collection

If you leave Triage without choosing, the word stays in the queue.

Why use Triage instead of bulk generation?

Bulk flashcard generation on a Source section creates cards for every word at once, which can flood your review queue. Triage lets you be selective — generate only useful words and delete typos, duplicates, or entries you do not want.

Pace your intake

You do not need to clear Triage in one sitting. Process 10–20 words per day to control how many new cards enter review.

Find words without flashcards

Accepted words with no flashcards are not in Triage. Use the No flashcards filter on the Words page to find them and generate cards from each word's detail page.
